I teach in-home piano, flute and clarinet lessons.
Playing music is a gift that lasts a lifetime. I love helping both children and adults experience the joy of making music.

My fun and engaging lessons are a unique experience - nothing like the dull lessons you might remember from your childhood. I keep students engaged and having fun as they learn both music and essential life skills.
Many people try to learn to play an instrument on their own or with a teacher who doesn't motivate them and they struggle to stay motivated to practice and improve. As a former elementary school music teacher, I know how to create fun and meaningful music lessons so my students experience all of the joy and benefits of learning to play an instrument.
My students got to choose the songs they want to play. I teach a stop by step method where my students learn one new skill at a time so they can be successful. Visit my Facebook page at Rachel Stone Private Music Lessons to learn more.

Music Lessons Are For Everyone!
Everyone can learn to play an instrument.
- I have taught every student I have ever had to play songs in their first lesson!
- It doesn't matter how old you are or how much musical experience you have, if any.
- Even people who have trouble keeping the beat, or people who have been told they have no musical talent can learn to play the piano.
- My step by step method of teaching allows my students to only focus on one new thing at a time so they can be successful!
- Lessons with me are fun and enjoyable.
- If you aren't sure that you can learn to play an instrument, try one lesson with me and let me prove to you that you can do it with my guidance!
What Sets Me Apart
I offer personalized learning programs based on the needs and learning styles of each student, because each person is unique and learns differently. My lessons are not cookie cutter or one size fits all!
With each lesson, I assess your progress and give you exactly what you need to do next in order to keep improving and stay excited about playing.
The music you learn is the music you actually want to play! You'll stay motivated and engaged as you continue to grow as a musician. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can learn to play your instrument when you play familiar songs that you love and enjoy playing.

Watch My Students Perform
My Story
I started playing the piano when I was 7 years old. When I was 10, I started playing the flute. I loved it and I continue to play piano and flute as an adult.
In college I learned to play the clarinet and all of the other wind instruments at a basic level. I started teaching elementary general music right after I graduated from the University of Redlands with my Bachelors of Music in Music Education and my K-12 Music Teaching License. I taught elementary band, choir, and general music for 9 years at multiple elementary schools in California and Colorado.
I now teach private lessons full time instead of teaching in a classroom. I enjoy connecting with students personally and watching them grow as people and musicians.
I'll never forget my first flute teacher and how she changed my life. She was very patient, kind, and fun, and she pushed me to improve and continue learning at the same time. She changed the course of my life by introducing me to the joy of playing an instrument.
Because of my childhood flute teacher, I continued playing music. I eventually decided I wanted to be an elementary school music teacher and a private music teacher. I strive to give that same experience to my students and impact them personally, no matter where they ultimately go in life.
